Best Practice for Running Community Groups

Running a community ukulele club for over 50s is about much more than music — it’s about connection, confidence, fun and wellbeing. After being asked for advice on creating and sustaining successful groups, The Ukulele Project has put together our top 10 best practice tips to help organisers build welcoming, inclusive and engaging ukulele communities for older adults. Whether you’re starting a new club or developing an existing one, these practical ideas are designed to support enjoyable music-making for everyone involved

60s Songbook

The London Ukulele Project is delighted to be part of Twickenham’s 60s Day celebrations 9th August 2026, bringing people together through music with ukulele jams and flashmob performances throughout the event.

To help everyone join in, we’ve created this FREE 60s songbook packed with classic singalong favourites.

If you enjoy using it and would like to support the project, donations are very welcome and will help us run our summer programme and more community music events and resources like this. Thank you for playing along with us!
