Started in 2015 by founder members Dave Proctor and Paul Shearman, the club quickly outgrew its first venue, moving to St Robert’s Social Club in Harrogate in 2017. Following the COVID pandemic, the club moved again to Oatlands Social Club where they meet every Wednesday for a strum and sing session. The club has over 40 members and an active band – with up to 24 players. The band is well known locally and have played at many well known local venues, including RHS Harlow Carr, Valley Gardens, Harrogate, Knaresborough Castle, Ripon Spa Gardens, Pateley Bridge Bandstand, the Harrogate Food Festival, various Christmas markets and for numerous village fairs, garden parties and other events. The band collects on behalf of St Michael’s Hospice and have raised over £2000 for the charity since June 2021.
